A 53-year-old man from Hillsboro, Lawrence Allen Bourne, has been sentenced to 15 years in prison after pleading guilty to drug-related charges, marking at least his sixth conviction. Additionally, his probation from a prior drug offense was revoked by Jefferson County Circuit Judge Victor J. Melenbrink on January 21, 2024. Bourne’s sentence includes a 10-year term from a previous conviction in 2022, which he will now serve concurrently.
Bourne’s most recent arrest in November 2023 led to the new charges of possession of a controlled substance. The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office conducted a search at Bourne’s residence on El Vado Drive, where they discovered methamphetamine, syringes filled with liquid meth, and other drug paraphernalia.
In 2020, Bourne had been arrested in Arnold after a police officer pulled over his truck and a drug detection dog alerted authorities to narcotics inside. Bourne was subsequently found with methamphetamine in his vehicle. He was sentenced to 10 years in prison for the 2020 offense, but the sentence was suspended in favor of five years of probation, which was later revoked following his most recent charges.
Before this case, Bourne had multiple previous convictions for drug-related offenses, including possession and distribution of controlled substances in Jefferson and St. Louis counties.
