PALESTINE, Texas — Laura Dorsey, 35, was arrested early Sunday morning after police allegedly discovered seven kilograms of methamphetamine inside a vehicle carrying an infant.
According to the Palestine Police Department, detectives conducted a traffic stop around 12:39 a.m. on South Loop 256 at Benbrook. Officers determined Dorsey, who is from Tyler, was driving without a valid license and took her into custody.
Passengers in the vehicle were identified as Julio Roa, 30, and Stephanie Silva, 30, along with their eight-month-old daughter. Authorities said none of the adults had a valid driver’s license.
During a search of the car, officers reportedly located a duffel bag on the passenger-side floorboard containing approximately seven kilograms of suspected methamphetamine.
All three adults have been charged with manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance and endangering a child. Child Protective Services took custody of the infant following the arrests.
