Latoya Whitted Arrested in Lenoir County Drug Stop

Traffic stop leads to drug charges and outstanding warrant

LENOIR COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) – A traffic stop in Lenoir County led to the arrest of a Dover woman on multiple drug charges, along with the discovery of an outstanding warrant.

Deputies with the Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office conducted a stop Saturday along Highway 70 East near Highway 58 South for expired registration, a revoked driver’s license, and expired inspection.

The driver was identified as 45-year-old Latoya Whitted of Dover. During the stop, deputies reportedly found illegal narcotics and drug paraphernalia in the vehicle.

Whitted was arrested and charged with:

Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance

Possession of a Schedule VI Controlled Substance

Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Further investigation revealed an outstanding warrant for Whitted’s arrest from Craven County, also related to Schedule II drug possession.

She was transported to the Lenoir County Jail and held without bond.
