by Sophia Bennett

LE CLAIRE, IA. (KWQC) — Latisha Collier, 38, of Scott County, was arrested on Saturday on felony charges of forgery and identity theft.

According to police, Collier was denied housing when she applied in March 2024. Later, in August 2024, she used another person’s identification, social security number, and tax documents to apply for housing in Le Claire. Authorities say Collier also signed the lease using the victim’s identity.

The victim had been Collier’s client for 10 years, with Collier acting as their business and tax accountant, giving her access to sensitive personal and business information.

Latisha Collier has since posted bond and was released from the Scott County Jail.

A full report will be available soon.
