LANCASTER, Calif. — A 49-year-old Lancaster woman was arrested Tuesday after deputies say she attempted to leave a retail store with nearly $500 worth of unpaid merchandise.
According to authorities, Lashica Emerson was stopped at a store located in the 26400 block of Carl Boyer Drive with assistance from loss prevention personnel. Deputies arrived at the scene and took Emerson into custody without incident.
Further investigation revealed that Emerson has multiple prior arrests related to theft, officials said.
She was booked on felony theft charges and transported to the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station jail for processing.
