GRAY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — Two women were arrested on July 7 in Jones County after admitting to stealing food and drinks from the Dollar General on Shurling Drive, according to the Jones County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded to a BOLO (Be On the Lookout) for a white Ford Crown Victoria linked to the shoplifting. Officers quickly located the vehicle and found two large handbags inside, both filled with stolen food and beverages from the store.
The suspects, identified as Lashawna Simmons and Lafaydra Little, both confessed to the theft.
Simmons faces multiple charges including:
Theft by shoplifting
Driving with a suspended license
Expired tag
No insurance
An active warrant from Bibb County for a prior shoplifting offense
Little was also charged with theft by shoplifting.
Deputies confirmed that the stolen merchandise was returned to the Dollar General store.
