Larry Ames Arrested with Over 200 Grams of Meth After Traffic Stop in Gibson County
Evansville, Ind. — A traffic stop on US 41 near County Road 350 led to the arrest of Larry Ames, an Evansville man found with a large quantity of methamphetamine and firearms, according to the Gibson County Sheriff’s Office (GCSO).
On Wednesday, deputies pulled over a swerving vehicle and identified Ames as the driver. Methamphetamine was reportedly visible in plain view, and officers noticed signs of impairment.
During their search, authorities discovered:
208 grams of methamphetamine
Two firearms, including one altered weapon
Additional illegal substances, including marijuana and a legend drug
Ames, who was already on parole, was taken into custody and transported to the Gibson County Jail. He now faces multiple charges, including:
Possession of Methamphetamines over 28 grams
Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Serious Violent Felon
Possession of an Altered Firearm
Dealing Methamphetamines
Dealing Methamphetamines in Possession of a Firearm
Possession of a Legend Drug
Possession of Marijuana
Authorities continue to investigate, and additional charges may be pending.
