Laqua Tucker, of Pleasantville, was convicted on two counts of third-degree burglary for break-ins committed in Absecon and Galloway in 2024, according to the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office.
On January 2, 2024, Tucker broke into Sun Petro in Absecon by smashing the glass front door. Investigators found blood droplets at the scene, and subsequent DNA testing matched them to Tucker.
Months later, on May 30, 2024, Tucker broke into Tobacco Outlet in Galloway. Surveillance footage showed him using a rock and a metal pole to break the glass, and his fingerprints were found on an open cash register.
Tucker is already serving time at the Garden State Youth Correctional Facility in Chesterfield for separate burglary convictions in Cape May County. He has been in custody there since May 8, 2024.
Additionally, Tucker was arrested again on June 14, 2024, alongside Devin J. Arnold of Galloway. The pair allegedly committed two commercial burglaries in Stafford in May 2024.
Stafford police said the two were part of a larger burglary crew that targeted businesses across New Jersey and Pennsylvania. The status of those charges remains unclear.
