LOS ANGELES — The Los Angeles Police Department is calling on the public to help identify potential victims of a Redondo Beach youth soccer coach, Jared Crevar, who was arrested for alleged child sex crimes.
Crevar, 37, a volunteer coach with AYSO (American Youth Soccer Organization), was taken into custody on May 1 after investigators discovered over 600 images of child pornography in his possession, according to LAPD officials.
The Redondo Beach resident allegedly attempted to have sex with a minor, prompting a deeper investigation that uncovered disturbing digital evidence. Authorities say Crevar has since been released on bail, heightening public concern.
In a statement, LAPD emphasized the urgency of the case:
“The suspect is in a position of trust working with children,” police said. “We are releasing his photo to alert the public and encourage potential victims to come forward.”
Due to Crevar’s active involvement with youth sports, investigators believe there may be additional victims who have not yet been identified.
Anyone with information is urged to contact LAPD or submit anonymous tips through LA Crime Stoppers.
