Landreaux Lighty and Two Others Arrested in Darlington Drug Bust

Fentanyl, meth, firearms seized during Bacote Street raid

DARLINGTON COUNTY, S.C. — Three men were arrested Wednesday following a drug bust at a Bacote Street residence in Darlington.

The Darlington County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant, resulting in the arrests of Landreaux Lighty, 42, Bowman Lighty Jr., 78, and Kegan Smith, 29.

Landreaux Lighty faces multiple charges, including distribution of methamphetamine, trafficking fentanyl, possession of a firearm during a violent crime, possession of firearm or ammunition by a convicted person, and unlawfully placing a child at risk.

Bowman Lighty Jr. was charged with possession of a firearm or ammunition by a convicted person and possession of marijuana. Kegan Smith was charged with possession with intent to distribute fentanyl.

Deputies recovered eight grams of fentanyl, four grams of methamphetamine, nearly 17 grams of marijuana, pressed pills, and firearms during the search.

The sheriff’s office stated the investigation is ongoing, and additional charges may be forthcoming.
