In a chilling case of domestic betrayal, Lakshmi, a woman from Uttar Pradesh, has been arrested and sent to jail alongside her nephew Amit for the brutal murder of her husband, Shivveer. The two were presented in court on Monday, where both were remanded to judicial custody.
During interrogation, Lakshmi confessed that she struck her husband with a spade, leading to his death. Her nephew, whose right hand is amputated and unable to wield a weapon, assisted in the planning but not in the physical act. In a further disturbing twist, Lakshmi admitted to instructing her children to bring 10 packets of salt to hasten the decomposition of Shivveer’s body.
DCP West Dinesh Kumar Tripathi provided details, revealing that Shivveer worked in Gujarat and had three children with Lakshmi—one son and two daughters. While Shivveer was away for work, Lakshmi developed an illicit relationship with his nephew Amit. When Shivveer discovered the affair, he allegedly began physically abusing her. This prompted the pair to conspire and eliminate him.
The case has shocked the local community and drawn attention to the dark intersections of domestic violence, infidelity, and family betrayal.
