Lakeland Man Arrested After Multiple Burglaries Identified via Security Video
A 23-year-old Lakeland man, Ronald Floyd, is facing multiple charges after being identified as the suspect in a series of recent burglaries in Polk County. Floyd was arrested by the Polk County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO) on May 16, 2025.
The PCSO detectives had been investigating a string of burglaries over several days. In an effort to identify the suspect, they released security video footage on social media showing the individual during an attempted burglary. The suspect was seen wearing a distinctive Looney Tunes jacket, which led to a breakthrough in the case.
Thanks to a tip from a “good citizen,” who recognized Floyd from the video, detectives were able to identify him. The tipster contacted Heartland Crime Stoppers, providing key information that led to Floyd’s arrest.
When detectives contacted Floyd, he reportedly confessed to the burglaries and disclosed the locations where stolen items were hidden. Floyd is now in custody at the Polk County Jail, facing six counts of attempted burglary of a conveyance (with mask enhancement), two counts of burglary of a conveyance (with mask enhancement), and two counts of felony petit theft.
