Lakeisha Peterson Charged with Embezzlement, ID Theft in NC

Winterville woman accused of fraud at The Rickhouse

GREENVILLE, N.C. — A Winterville woman has been arrested and charged with felony embezzlement and felony identity theft, according to the Greenville Police Department.

Lakeisha Peterson, 39, was taken into custody on Thursday, June 5, 2025, on the 100 block of New Hope Road. The charges stem from an incident that allegedly occurred on July 9, 2024, while she was employed at The Rickhouse, a local restaurant.

According to arrest warrants, Peterson is accused of:

Embezzling food products, food equipment, and a cash deposit from her employer.

Signing another person’s name with intent to fraudulently assume their identity.

Peterson was initially booked into the Pitt County Detention Center, but has since been released on bond.

The investigation remains ongoing. Authorities urge businesses to conduct regular audits and background checks to help prevent similar cases of workplace fraud.
