Lake Worth Beach Brothers Arrested for Human Trafficking and Sexual Battery

Two Guatemalan nationals charged after 911 call exposed brothel operation

by Amelia Crawford

A disturbing 911 call from a woman who claimed she was being held captive led deputies with the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office (PBSO) to uncover a human trafficking operation in Lake Worth Beach. The call revealed that two women were being held against their will in a small apartment operating as a brothel.

Following the investigation, authorities arrested brothers Yudvin and Glin Zuniga Latin, both Guatemalan nationals, on charges of human trafficking and sexual battery. The pair allegedly lured the women to Palm Beach County under false promises of legitimate employment, only to force them into sex work at gunpoint.

When deputies arrived at the apartment, they found the women and rescued them from the traumatic situation. The two brothers, however, fled the scene, though they were eventually captured.

Sheriff Ric Bradshaw emphasized the preventable nature of the crime, stating, “This is another crime that didn’t have to happen—because they should have never been here.”
