RIVERSIDE COUNTY, CA — A 19-year-old man has been arrested after two people were shot in Lake Elsinore, Riverside County, on March 22.

Authorities were called to the 600 block of West Lakeshore Drive at 12:30 a.m., where they found one person with multiple gunshot wounds. The suspect had fled the scene. Shortly after, deputies were notified that a second victim had arrived at a nearby hospital with similar injuries. The shootings were soon linked together.

Kenyelo Centeno-Guzman, a 19-year-old from Lake Elsinore, was later identified as the suspect. On March 27, investigators served a search warrant at his home, where they arrested him on charges of attempted murder and possession of a stolen firearm.

A second individual, Belica Guzman, 41, was also arrested during the operation. She faces charges of evidence tampering, child endangerment, and obstructing a peace officer. Both suspects were transported to the Cois Byrd Detention Center.

Authorities are considering gang-related enhancements for the charges, although details about the motive or the relationship between the victims and the suspect have not been disclosed.

“The Lake Elsinore Station and the Region 4 Gang Task Force are committed to investigating and prosecuting gang-related crimes to the fullest extent of the law,” the sheriff’s department stated.
