HAZEL PARK, Mich. – A 43-year-old Redford man, Ladamien Keith Hill, has been formally charged with the brutal Labor Day murders of his sister, Linda Hill, and 12-year-old nephew, Kardi Jackson, in Hazel Park.
Appearing in court on Friday, Hill stood mute while the judge entered a not-guilty plea on his behalf. He is facing two counts of first-degree murder in connection to the September 1 slayings.
According to the Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office, Hill has a lengthy criminal history, including convictions for assault, domestic violence, drug possession, and firearm-related offenses. He is a father of seven and reportedly works as a roofer, currently living with one of his children’s mothers.
The judge denied bond, and Hill is scheduled to return to court on September 16.
Hazel Park police began investigating after Linda Hill and her son were found dead in their home on Berdeno Avenue with their throats slashed. The discovery was made after Linda’s uncle, who lived in the basement, heard loud noises and went upstairs approximately 15 minutes later to find the bodies.
Security footage revealed a red Lincoln leaving the scene. After the crime scene was processed and the home was released, Hill reportedly returned uninvited, entered the bedroom, and said, “forgive me” before lying naked on his sister’s bed for 10 minutes and leaving.
Family members reported this to the police, who later tracked Hill to a residence in Pontiac, where he was arrested. Blood evidence was reportedly found in his vehicle, though Hill declined to speak to investigators.
Hill remains in custody as the investigation into the double homicide continues.
