Kyle Welch, 4 Others Arrested in Foley Armed Robbery Case

Weapons, drugs recovered; juvenile also among arrested

Foley, Alabama – A total of five individuals, including 26-year-old Kyle Welch of Texas, have been arrested in connection to an armed robbery that occurred on May 27 on Keil Trail in Foley. According to police, Welch and a 17-year-old accomplice held victims at gunpoint and stole two firearms.

Foley Police responded to the scene around 6:50 p.m. and initiated a joint investigation with assistance from the Gulf Shores Police Department and the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office. During the search, a police canine located Welch hiding under an RV. Officers recovered three firearms—one of which was reported stolen—and approximately 3 grams of methamphetamine.

A few days later, on May 29, authorities located and arrested the second suspect, a juvenile. Both Welch and the teen are facing Robbery 1st degree charges, a Class A felony. Welch is also charged with Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance, a Class D felony.

The investigation led authorities to execute a search warrant on George Younce Road. This resulted in the arrest of three more individuals:

Kahmiya Amoni Thomas (18) – Charged with Possession of Marijuana 2nd.

Abel Alejandro Gamez (18) – Charged with Possession of Marijuana 2nd and Possession of a Firearm with an Altered ID.

Cody Dewayne Barnett (34) – Charged with Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance.

Authorities say additional charges are expected as the investigation continues. The Foley Police Department expressed gratitude to assisting agencies for their support.
