Kyle McCarty Arrested in Tekamah Theft, Drug Case

Police find stolen goods and meth in camper search

TEKAMAH, Neb. (WOWT) — A Tekamah man has been arrested on multiple charges after a police search warrant led to the discovery of stolen property and drugs last week.

According to the Tekamah Police Department (TPD), 37-year-old Kyle McCarty was taken into custody after officers executed a search warrant on a camper near 11th and J streets on November 6.

Inside the camper, investigators found “thousands of dollars” worth of stolen goods, along with a small quantity of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia, police said.

Authorities located and apprehended McCarty nearby while he was riding his bicycle, according to TPD.

McCarty faces several charges, including:

Burglary

Theft by unlawful taking (multiple counts)

Felony possession of stolen property

Criminal trespassing (multiple counts)

Possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine)

Possession of drug paraphernalia

He is currently being held at the Washington County Jail on a $40,000 bond, police said.
