LEHIGH ACRES, Fla. — A man has been arrested in connection with a fatal hit-and-run crash that killed a 66-year-old woman walking in Lehigh Acres on August 30.
According to Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), Kyle Justin Hubbard, 49, of Alva, was taken into custody on Tuesday. He is accused of driving the 2019 Toyota Tundra that struck the woman while she was walking along the edge of Greenbriar Boulevard.
After the crash, the driver fled the scene, leaving the victim to die. FHP troopers later located and impounded the suspected vehicle.
Hubbard was booked into the Lee County Jail and faces multiple charges, including:
Leaving the scene of a crash involving death
Leaving the scene of a crash involving property damage
Tampering with evidence
The investigation into the incident is ongoing, according to FHP.
