Kurt Grant Pleads Guilty to Felony Murder in Overdose Case

Sand Springs man linked to Bixby woman’s 2024 overdose death

by Amelia Crawford

BIXBY, Okla. — A Sand Springs man has pleaded guilty to felony murder in connection with a fatal overdose in Bixby in 2024.

Kurt Grant was arrested in January by the Northern Oklahoma Violent Crimes Task Force and Sand Springs Police Department. His arrest followed a warrant issued in Tulsa County for felony murder after a 20-year-old woman was found dead from an overdose on June 6, 2024. Investigators determined the narcotics she consumed were provided by Grant.

Grant was also facing charges related to methamphetamine trafficking and DUI in an unrelated Sand Springs case.

On Monday, Grant pleaded guilty to felony murder and distribution of a controlled substance with intent. His sentencing is scheduled for May 16.

The plea follows a seven-month joint investigation by the Bixby Police Department and several law enforcement agencies.
