Mohammad Aminifar (Jokhur), a 40-year-old Kurdish man from Aliabad, Naqadeh, has been transferred to Naqadeh Central Prison to serve a 29-month sentence, following a summons from the city’s Public and Revolutionary Prosecutor’s Office.

Aminifar was convicted by Branch 1 of the Mahabad Revolutionary Court, presided over by Judge Sajad Dousti, on charges of:

“Membership in the Democratic Party of Iranian Kurdistan”
“Propaganda against the regime”
Arrest and Detention
On January 1, 2023, intelligence forces forcibly arrested Aminifar at his home in Aliabad and transferred him to a detention facility of the Intelligence Ministry in Urmia. After months in custody, he was temporarily released on a bail of 2 billion tomans pending trial.

Violation of Rights
During his detention, Aminifar was denied access to legal representation and family visits, raising serious human rights concerns.

His imprisonment is part of a broader crackdown on Kurdish activists in Iran, where political dissent is often met with severe punitive measures.
