Shankar police have arrested a woman under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act after recovering a significant quantity of intoxicant pills in the area. The case has been registered under Sections 22, 61, and 85 of the NDPS Act, and further investigation is ongoing.
ASI Parmjeet Singh of Police Chowki Shankar stated that the accused has been identified as Kulwinder Kaur alias Kittu, wife of Balwinder, a resident of Patti Takhar, Shankar. Acting on specific intelligence, police conducted a search near the Shankar flyover and recovered 82 loose intoxicant pills from her possession.
Kulwinder Kaur was immediately taken into custody, and the seized pills were secured following legal procedures. Authorities have emphasized that this arrest is part of continued efforts to curb illegal drug trade in the region.
Further investigation is underway to trace the origin of the intoxicants and to determine if Kulwinder Kaur has connections with a larger drug trafficking network.
