Kulgam Police have successfully arrested a drug peddler, Mohammad Syed Parray, and seized 10.47 kilograms of poppy straw-like contraband from his possession. The arrest took place at a checkpoint at Damidola crossing on Thursday.
According to official reports, Mohammad Syed Parray, son of Mohammad Abdullah Parray from Humshalibugh, was apprehended with the illegal substance. The authorities have registered a case under relevant sections of the law, and an investigation is currently underway.
The police action highlights their continued efforts in curbing narcotics trafficking in the region.
