A day after the body of Keshrilal Mali was found near a temple in Kaithuli village, Mandsaur police arrested the accused, Kuldeep Singh Rajput, from a forest area in Rajasthan. Kuldeep, 46, who worked alongside the victim, confessed to killing him during a drunken quarrel.
The incident unfolded in the remote Kaithuli village, where both men had been painting a Jain temple and staying overnight at a nearby shelter. On the night of the murder, an argument escalated following heavy drinking. Kuldeep assaulted Keshrilal with a wooden stick, stones, and a Kota stone slab, causing fatal injuries.
Police recovered blood-stained clothes and the weapons used in the crime, which forensic experts examined to confirm the accused’s involvement. Kuldeep was apprehended from a jungle in Rajasthan after a targeted search.
The case was registered following complaints from the victim’s family. Kuldeep is currently in custody and will be produced before the court.
