Kukatpally police arrested a 44-year-old woman, Prasanna, on Monday in connection with the murder of her husband, Sudhir Reddy, whose death a month ago had raised suspicions.
On December 24, authorities registered a suspicious death case following a complaint from Sudhir’s sister, D Sunitha. Sudhir, a private employee residing in Eenadu Colony, was found dead at his home.
The post-mortem examination confirmed that the death was unnatural. Police subsequently took Prasanna into custody. After prolonged questioning, she allegedly confessed to strangling her husband with a shawl due to marital disputes.
Investigations revealed that the murder occurred a week after Sudhir had lodged a complaint fearing for his life. Police also noted that Prasanna was allegedly involved in an extramarital relationship. She has been remanded in custody as further investigation continues.
