Krushna Nayak, Pooja & Jumuri Das Held in Puri Jewellery Theft

Three women arrested for stealing 1.5 kg silver ornaments in Puri

The Puri Police on Tuesday arrested three women accused of stealing silver ornaments from a jewellery shop in Krushna Prasad, Puri district, last month. The arrested individuals have been identified as:

Krushna Nayak (27) of Auto Nagar

Pooja Das (19) of Paniograhy Penth Sahi

Jumuri Das (35) of Haradakhandi, Berhampur

According to police, the theft occurred on March 1, and the accused were allegedly involved in stealing around 1.5 kg of silver ornaments worth Rs 1.5 lakh. The stolen items were successfully recovered during the investigation.

Officials also stated that the trio was part of a gang involved in multiple loot cases, including incidents in the Bada Bazar area. At least four criminal cases are currently pending against them.

The arrest is part of an ongoing effort by Puri Police to crack down on serial thefts and bring repeat offenders to justice.
