Two teenagers have been charged following a shooting incident and police pursuit early Sunday in Pine Bluff, authorities said.
The suspects were identified as Kristopher Walters and Cylon Bead, both 19 years old. They face multiple charges, including terroristic act, first-degree battery, and felony fleeing.
Officers responded to the area of Blake Street around 12:30 a.m. after reports of multiple gunshots. Upon arrival, police spotted a Dodge Charger speeding away from the scene.
According to authorities, the vehicle fled westbound onto West 28th Avenue and continued to Taft Street, where it crashed and caught fire. All occupants reportedly fled on foot after the wreck.
Shortly afterward, officers observed a green Dodge Challenger traveling at a high rate of speed in the opposite direction on West 28th Avenue. Police later made contact with individuals from that vehicle at Jefferson Regional Medical Center.
Officials said several occupants suffered non-life-threatening injuries. Victims told investigators that individuals in the Dodge Charger had been shooting at them near the 100 block of North Blake Street.
Following the incident, the Pine Bluff Violent Crimes Apprehension Team, along with vice units, SWAT teams, and detectives, launched a coordinated operation targeting suspects linked to recent shootings in the area.
As a result of the operation, Walters and Bead were taken into custody.
Police confirmed that the investigation remains ongoing.
