Kristopher Evans, Rodney Olson Arrested in Generator Theft

Asotin County Suspects Caught Using Surveillance Footage

by Sophia Bennett

ASOTIN COUNTY, Wash. — Two individuals, Kristopher Evans and Rodney Olson, were arrested after allegedly stealing a gas-powered generator from a business on the 1300 block of 16th Avenue.

Video surveillance showed the suspects arriving in a pickup truck, removing the generator, and leaving the scene. Using the footage and information from the business owner, Undersheriff Blake Richards and Deputy Carpenter quickly identified and located the suspects.

The stolen generator was recovered, and authorities asked Evans and Olson to reassemble and start it to confirm operability and ownership.

Both suspects, described as transient, were taken into custody without incident. Authorities believe they may be involved in other thefts in the area and urge anyone with additional information to contact the Asotin County Sheriff’s Office.
