In a shocking case of education fraud, three youths from East Midnapore were arrested for allegedly duping multiple students by falsely promising nursing training courses in Gangarampur. The accused were identified as Krishnakanta Mondal, Asim Kumar Jana, and Pabitra Jana — all hailing from different areas within the East Midnapore district.
According to local reports, the trio rented a house near the Gangarampur bus stand and began collecting Rs25,000 per student, luring them with promises of professional nursing training. They reportedly amassed several lakhs of rupees from students across the district before the scam was exposed.
The fraud came to light when a student from Gangarampur Block filed a formal police complaint after months had passed without any training starting. Upon investigation, it became evident that no authorized institution or official program was associated with the training scheme.
Police have arrested all three individuals, and further investigation is underway to identify additional victims and recover the stolen money.
Authorities have urged the public to verify the credentials of educational programs and institutions before enrolling or making payments.
