FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) — Two men have been arrested in connection with a deadly shooting in northwest Fresno that took place last month, in an investigation that extended beyond Central California.
Krishan Kumar, 24, and Vishal Vishal, 31, were both arrested and charged with murder in the killing of 33-year-old Kuvar Kumar. The victim was shot and killed on July 21 near State Street and Acacia Avenue, shortly after arriving home in the evening.
According to Fresno Police, the suspects and victim knew each other, and detectives believe the fatal shooting stemmed from an ongoing business conflict.
The investigation was extensive, with officers conducting numerous interviews across California and executing search warrants that led them across the country.
Searches at the suspects’ homes in Bakersfield and Victorville resulted in their arrests and the recovery of firearms.
Both Krishan Kumar and Vishal Vishal have been booked into the Fresno County Jail, each with bail set at over $1 million.
Fresno Police Chief Mindy Casto stated, “This case took us not just across California, but across the nation as well.”
The investigation remains ongoing.
