Kothamangalam Police arrested two men on Thursday in connection with a visa fraud case involving over Rs 1 crore. The accused have been identified as Thomas N Isaac, 51, from Mathirappilly, Kothamangalam, and Pradeep Kumar, 42, from Thiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu.
The arrest followed a complaint filed by a resident of Kothamangalam who claimed that the accused had fraudulently collected large sums of money from multiple victims, promising to arrange Australian visas. Police investigations revealed that Thomas Isaac, a college lecturer from Muvattupuzha, and his associate Pradeep Kumar, a physical education teacher from Tamil Nadu, were behind the scam.
Both men face similar charges at Kaliyar and Thodupuzha police stations, where other victims have come forward with similar complaints. Authorities are continuing to investigate the matter, and further arrests may follow as more details emerge.
