Kolkata police have arrested two domestic helps in separate theft cases involving cash, gold, and personal belongings.
In Dhakuria, Rahul Sharma (30) was apprehended for allegedly stealing a pair of gold earrings, Rs 6,000 in cash, a bag containing Rs 1,200, a license, a debit card, and two wristwatches from his employer’s home.
Meanwhile, in Bijoygarh, Rohan Bal, another domestic worker, was arrested on Sunday for allegedly stealing 65 grams of gold jewelry and Rs 3,30,000 from a residence in Patuli.
Both arrests highlight the risks of trust-based employment in households and the need for vigilance in domestic settings. Police investigations are ongoing to recover the stolen items.
