Kodagu Police Arrest Johur Ali for Mobile Shop Burglary

Johur Ali caught stealing 32 phones in Kodagu district

The Kodagu district police arrested Johur Ali, a resident of Tegur village in Chikkamagaluru and a native of Assam, for burglary at a mobile shop on Gonikoppal Main Road. On the night of August 24, the shop’s rolling shutters were forcefully opened, resulting in the theft of over two dozen mobile phones and Rs 3,000 in cash.

Following the incident, a case was registered at the Gonikoppal police station. A special team, led by DSP Mahesh Kumar S and comprising CPI Shivaraj R Mudhol and SI Pradeep Kumar BK, was formed to investigate. Johur Ali was apprehended on Thursday, and police recovered 32 stolen mobile phones from him.

The accused has been taken into custody, and further investigation is ongoing.
