A 21-year-old man, Kochi Mistry, has been arrested for allegedly burgling the house of a retired Armyman in Sarsuna on July 25. Mistry, a resident of Sukdevpur village in Diamond Harbour, was caught with a significant portion of the stolen property recovered from his possession.
In a separate case, police arrested three men for allegedly robbing a cloth merchant of Rs1 lakh in Hastings. The accused — Wasi, Naved Hussain, and Sajjad Hussain, all residents of Ekbalpur — reportedly waylaid the merchant, assaulted him, and fled with the cash.
Investigators are now probing whether these suspects are linked to other similar incidents in the area.
