HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. — A Clarksville man and a Hopkinsville woman were arrested on drug-related charges after a traffic stop on Fort Campbell Boulevard Saturday afternoon.
According to the Hopkinsville Police Department, officers pulled over 27-year-old Kobe Perry for a seat belt violation. During the stop, police detected the smell of marijuana emanating from the vehicle.
Upon searching the car, officers discovered a crushed-up ecstasy pill in the center console. Further investigation revealed a bag belonging to Perry’s passenger, 38-year-old Sharika Sivils, containing marijuana and a handgun.
Perry was arrested and charged with improper lane usage, failure to wear seat belts, and first-degree possession of a controlled substance. Sivils was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana.
Both individuals were taken into custody and are awaiting their respective court appearances.
