KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — A 47-year-old Knoxville woman has been arrested for first-degree murder after her mother’s body was found inside a Knox County residence Tuesday night.
Anglea Marie Holt, who shared the home on Brackfield Acres Way with her mother, is believed to have fled the scene with the family dog. Investigators say the mother was killed with what officers described as a “lethal cutting instrument.”
Court documents indicate Holt was last seen with her mother around 12:30 p.m. Tuesday. When contacted by a family member at 10:49 p.m., the mother was found dead inside the home. Authorities described the incident as “a known killing.” Holt was later apprehended and charged with first-degree murder.
Holt has retained a public defender and is scheduled for a bond hearing on Monday, Sept. 19, at 8 a.m.
