CALHOUN COUNTY, FL – A Malone man, Kit Snowden, is facing multiple charges after leading law enforcement on a high-speed chase that ended in Calhoun County on Saturday.

According to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were conducting proactive patrols along State Road 73 South when they spotted a black Chrysler 300 speeding excessively. Deputies attempted to pull the vehicle over, but the driver refused to stop, prompting a pursuit.

The chase continued into Calhoun County, where the suspect eventually lost control of the vehicle. Deputies discovered the Chrysler abandoned in a ditch with the driver’s door ajar.

A search of the area led authorities to a nearby woodline where Snowden was found hiding. He was arrested without incident.

Snowden has been charged with Fleeing or Attempting to Elude a Law Enforcement Officer and Reckless Driving. Because the pursuit ended in Calhoun County, he was taken into custody by the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office and transported to the Calhoun County Jail.

Authorities have not released further details on whether additional charges may be filed.
