In a significant development, Kishtwar police have successfully solved the J&K Bank Dachhan theft case and arrested two individuals involved in the crime. Part of the stolen amount has also been recovered.
Kishtwar SSP Javaid Iqbal Mir briefed the media, explaining that on February 3, a complaint was received from the Branch Manager of J&K Bank, Dachhan, regarding a theft amounting to Rs 19,51,600. Following the complaint, an FIR was registered at Dachhan police station, and an investigation was initiated.
A Special Investigation Team (SIT) was set up under the supervision of Kishtwar ASP (OPS) Nisar Khoja. DSP Sumit Bhagat, SHO Harjeet Singh, and other police personnel worked tirelessly to gather evidence and analyze CCTV footage. The police confirmed that the theft had taken place during the night of February 1 and 2.
Through extensive questioning of several suspects and technical analysis, the SIT managed to identify the primary accused. The two arrested individuals have been identified as Mohammad Yasin, a resident of Krossa, Sounder, and Bilal Ahmed, a resident of Lidhri, Dachhan.
Authorities are continuing their investigation to recover the remaining stolen amount and to uncover any additional details related to the crime.
