Mahishamardhini Temple Targeted in Early Morning Heist

by Ananya Mehta

In a swift operation, the Udupi Town Police arrested two individuals attempting to rob the Mahishamardhini Temple at Kadiyali in the early hours of Saturday.

The accused, identified as J.J. Kiran and Vishnu — both residents of Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala — allegedly tried to steal valuables from the temple premises under the cover of darkness.

Temple authorities reportedly noticed suspicious activity and immediately alerted the police. The officers reached the spot and apprehended the suspects before any significant damage or theft occurred.

An investigation is currently underway to determine whether the duo had any prior connection to similar temple thefts in the region or were part of a larger network.

Police have assured the public that temple security will be further strengthened and that surveillance measures are being reviewed to prevent future incidents.
