Kinston Man and Raleigh Woman Arrested After Traffic Stop

Traffic Stop Leads to Drug, Firearm Charges in La Grange

LA GRANGE, N.C. — A traffic stop near La Grange led to charges for a Kinston man and a Raleigh woman on Sunday.

Officers from the Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office B-Shift stopped a Lexus for a window tint violation on U.S. 70 near La Grange. Victoria Pickett, 39, was driving the vehicle and admitted to officers that she did not have a valid driver’s license. Additionally, she revealed the vehicle’s registration was out of date, and the insurance was invalid. Thaddeux Jackson, 44, from Kinston, provided his driver’s license during the stop.

A subsequent search of the vehicle uncovered marijuana, a firearm, and drug paraphernalia.

Jackson faces several charges, including:

Felony possession with intent to sell, manufacture, or distribute marijuana
Misdemeanor carrying a concealed firearm
Possession of drug paraphernalia
He was granted a $10,000 unsecured bond for his charges.

Pickett was charged with:

Driving while license revoked
No liability insurance
Window tint violation
Failure to register a motor vehicle
License plate frame cover violation
She was issued a written promise to appear in court.

The investigation is ongoing.
