Gaines School Road resident Kimberly Michelle Jarrell, 36, was arrested on the evening of August 11th at Piedmont Athens Regional Medical Center after assaulting a security guard.
Jarrell had been acting aggressively toward hospital employees throughout the day, causing fear among staff members, according to the arrest report.
The incident that prompted police intervention involved Jarrell charging at a 23-year-old security guard and repeatedly punching him until he tackled her to the ground.
Police reviewed security footage of the attack and arrested Jarrell on a charge of simple battery.
She remains in custody without bail due to two outstanding felony probation violations. Jarrell is scheduled for arraignment on October 14th.
