A months-long investigation into prescription drug trafficking led to the arrest of a McCracken County woman last week.
Kim Watson, 40, was taken into custody Friday afternoon, Feb. 20, on charges of Trafficking in a Controlled Substance, First Degree, and Possession of a Controlled Substance, First Degree. She was booked into the McCracken County Regional Jail.
The McCracken County Sheriff’s Office said detectives had been investigating Watson for several months in connection with prescription drug sales. On Friday, undercover detectives purchased multiple doses of hydrocodone from Watson in a business parking lot on Clint Hill Boulevard in Paducah.
Following the transaction, Watson was arrested. A search of her belongings reportedly uncovered an additional 56 doses of hydrocodone for which she did not have a prescription.
Watson faces first-degree trafficking and possession charges as the investigation continues.
