Khunti police have arrested two men in connection with the murder of seven-year-old Vishnu Munda in Bimdih village, under the Maranghada police station limits.
The accused, Jagarnath Munda and Raghu Munda, were taken into custody on Friday and forwarded to jail on Saturday. Police reported that Raghu’s son had recently died of illness, and he suspected Vishnu’s mother of practicing witchcraft, blaming her for his son’s death.
On Thursday, the accused lured Vishnu into a forest and murdered him with sharp weapons in a revenge attack. The police have registered a case under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Prevention of Witch Practices Act.
