HICKORY, N.C. — Hickory Police arrested a 24-year-old man Saturday in connection with multiple drug-related offenses in Lincoln County, according to law enforcement officials.
The suspect, identified as Khareem Delano Sassafras, of 1st Avenue SE in Hickory, was taken into custody on January 3. Authorities said Sassafras faces felony and misdemeanor charges, including felony possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana up to one-half ounce, possession of marijuana paraphernalia, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Following his arrest, Sassafras was booked into the Catawba County Detention Facility, where he is being held under a $10,000 secured bond.
Court records indicate that Sassafras is scheduled to appear in Lincoln County District Court on January 12 to answer to the charges.
As with all criminal cases, the charges represent allegations only. Khareem Delano Sassafras is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
