RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WACH) — A man has been arrested following a shooting incident that occurred in Richland County on the morning of April 27.

At approximately 10:50 a.m., an off-duty Richland County Sheriff’s Department (RCSD) deputy, who was in the Kenmore Park Drive area, heard a gunshot and saw a victim lying on the ground with a gunshot wound to the upper body.

The deputy also saw a vehicle speeding away from the scene and immediately began administering first aid to the victim until EMS arrived. The victim was transported to a hospital for treatment.

Investigators later identified the suspect’s vehicle through surveillance footage. The vehicle was located abandoned and processed for evidence. Authorities determined that the shooting stemmed from a dispute between the suspect and the victim.

Attempted Murder

Possession of a Weapon During a Violent Crime

Possession of a Firearm by a Person Convicted of a Violent Offense

Possession of Body Armor by a Violent Felon

Trafficking Fentanyl (28 Grams or More)

Davis was booked at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center, where he remains in custody under a $150,000 surety bond. The investigation is ongoing.
