In a significant crackdown on drug trafficking, the Indore Crime Branch arrested two men from Mandsaur on charges of supplying MD drugs worth Rs1 crore in the international market. The arrests were made during a targeted raid near the MR-10 bridge based on specific intelligence inputs.
According to DCP (Crime) Rajesh Kumar Tripathi, the suspects—Khalid Hussain and Nadeem Khan—were intercepted while they were attempting to deliver the narcotics to a contact. A search of their belongings led to the seizure of 151 grams of MD (mephedrone), a synthetic drug banned under the NDPS Act.
Authorities revealed that the accused were involved in a wider drug supply network, primarily targeting the city’s youth. The duo allegedly sourced drugs from other states and sold them in smaller quantities to local addicts and repeat offenders.
The case has been registered under Section 8/22 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, and further interrogation is underway to trace other members of the network.
