
BATON ROUGE, La. — A 26-year-old woman, Keyonna Walker, was arrested Monday on six counts of attempted first-degree murder after allegedly firing multiple rounds at a group of people standing on a balcony.
According to the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred on April 9 along Gardere Lane. Witnesses reported that Walker had been in an argument with her sister, one of the six individuals on the balcony.
Following the confrontation, Walker allegedly approached the building and opened fire at the group, striking several apartments in the process. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
In addition to the attempted murder charges, Walker is facing charges of illegal use of weapons and criminal damage to property. She was taken into custody on Monday.
Authorities say the investigation remains ongoing.
