The Special Operations Group (SOG) has arrested Lakkiram Suthar, a key accused involved in the seizure of opium valued at Rs 6.65 lakh in the city. A resident of Mandsaur, Madhya Pradesh, Suthar was apprehended following months of intensive investigation.
Earlier in January, police seized a large quantity of opium and arrested two individuals — Bhanvarlal Jaypal from Madhya Pradesh and Devji Prajapati from New Sama Road. Acting on a tip-off, the police raided a location where the duo allegedly planned to sell the narcotics, leading to the seizure and a case registered at Harni police station.
During interrogation, Jaypal disclosed that the opium originated from Suthar and also named another accomplice, Komal Jaat, involved in supplying the drugs.
Following this lead, the SOG tracked down and arrested Lakkiram Suthar from Mandsaur. Efforts are underway to locate and apprehend Komal Jaat.
