COVINGTON, Ky. (WKRC) — Kevin Prince Davis, 46, of Cincinnati, was sentenced to 15 years (180 months) in federal prison for possession with intent to distribute over five kilograms of cocaine.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Kentucky announced the sentence on Friday, linked to a drug smuggling case involving bricks of cocaine.

Davis was a passenger during a traffic stop on I-75 when officers detected the smell of marijuana coming from his side of the vehicle. Upon searching him, police found marijuana in his pocket.

An extensive search of the vehicle’s rear cargo area uncovered six bricks of cocaine. Davis attempted to flee but was quickly apprehended and admitted ownership of the drugs.

He had a prior conviction for conspiracy to distribute five kilograms of cocaine.
