Kevin Nida and Sherry Vance Arrested in Alleghany County Drug Bust

Meth, firearm, and drug distribution charges lead to arrests in Virginia

Alleghany County, VA – Kevin Nida and Sherry Vance were arrested following a drug bust on Sunday night, according to the Alleghany County Sheriff’s Office (ACSO).

Authorities received information on Sunday, April 7, indicating that methamphetamine was being distributed from a home on the 8000 block of Potts Creek Road. Later that evening, around 11 p.m., the ACSO Regional Emergency Response Team executed a search warrant at the residence.

Upon entering the home, authorities arrested two suspects and conducted a thorough search. The following items were seized:

¾ oz. of methamphetamine

Several smoking devices

A handgun

Kevin Nida, one of the suspects, was charged with:

Possession of a firearm while in possession of schedule 1 or 2 drugs

Possession of a firearm after being convicted of a felony

Possession with intent to manufacture/distribute schedule 1 or 2 drugs (3 or more offenses)

Sherry Vance, the other suspect, was charged with:

Possession with intent to manufacture/distribute schedule 1 or 2 drugs

Possession of a firearm while in possession of schedule 1 or 2 drugs

Both suspects were taken into custody and are being held at the Alleghany Regional Jail.

The ACSO continues to investigate drug distribution in the area and remains committed to addressing illegal activity in the county.
